What I don't understand in this country is that how are these companies making money. Like have a look at the recent bombardment of new packages by all the three major Telcos.
I am sorry if I did not put Ufone in the heading but there is a reason to it and that is "Ufone Sux!".
Anyway, so like Warid is up with Sunday free call offer from 7am to 12PM, Mobilink is up with new Jazz One i.e. Re.1.0 per minute and Telenor is coming up with some same kind of stuff. Don't be annoyed by me saying it but guys, these telcos have a responsibility towards their own employees as well. If they kept on going with these packages then everyone is a looser in the end. Mobilink and Warid are already in deep crisis (financially) due to competition and the launch of Jazz One was forthcoming. The entire Jazz team worked their asses off because their management actually told them that either its going to be Mobilink's way or for them its the highway. Pathetic I must say.
An average products and marketing person in these telecoms work approximately 12hrs per day (five days a week). Now for occasions like this when a launch is about to happen, these 12 hrs become 16 hrs and trust me that's not where you would want to be. The race to stay on top will keep on going until one of the guys from products and marketing dept calls it quits. But then again, that person does not leave for some desk job but goes to another telco on a better salary package. Whats the point, is money so important that you are willing to risk your life and family for it. Its not their fault, I say. Its the fault of the management which encourages their employees to work late in order to finish off the job early. But on the other hand, I have yet to see a management which actually has given a reasonable timeline to their products and marketing team to work on a new product or brand.
Anyway folks, I feel for these poor souls who work their asses off just to please the management and to win them some more customers, who by the way gives a rat's ass on the quality of service.
My message to all these people would be, give time to your family, give time to yourself. Please enjoy the time you have because time is something you will never get back.
