Confirmation: Telenor Launching WiMAX

No matter what they say, no matter how they try to cover up, Telenor is all geared up to launch WiMAX along with 3G network in Pakistan. The news came in from deep inside of Telenor technical team which is working on the project. Telenor achieved its 3G readiness a few months ago and after testing it thoroughly, it announced to the general public.

There is one more news attached to it, Telenor is also working on the IPTV project. On the likes of PTCL, Telenor Pakistan wishes to bring cheap entertainment at your door step.

Good going Telenor!

just curious! how will telenor manage to launch 3g without an actual 3g license for pakistan? 3G services worldwide are normally governed under a separate license due to different frequency band involved.

well, they achieved the readiness which means that as soon as they have the license, they can launch the service. The license bids are expected to open in first quarter 2008.

What 3G will do to your operating margins is a case which would be too expensive to test in Pakistan
