I just learned that Zohair Khaliq, CEO Mobilink Pakistan, has resigned today and Rashid Khan (Ex-Chief Commercial Officer) has been appointed the new CEO. It was in the rumors that ZK was going to leave Mobilink due to personal reasons a year ago but was held back by the Charmian of Orascom, Naguib Sawaris.
Zohair Khaliq has been one of the longest reigning CEOs in the Telecom sector and had been the instrumental person in turning the multi-million dollar company around. It was in his tenure that Mobilink went from being on a back bench to the top Telecom (GSM) company in Pakistan.
His illustrious career in Mobilink started after a long tenure in ICI and he brought with him the processes and managerial skills to give Mobilink a new fascia.
